Rabbi Susan Conforti • (949) 241-6146

I marry people who are in love with one another, regardless of their sex, gender, religion, combination of religions, or no religion at all*. Every wedding, like every couple, is unique. I will assist you in making the ceremony say what you want and reflect your beliefs.
If one or both partners is Jewish or if the couple is not a man and a woman, then I strongly recommend that you construct a marriage contract (a "ketubah", pronounced keh too BAH) to protect your status and preserve your obligations to one another regardless of any state's laws. Because of a ketubah's intrinsic beauty, I also recommend that every couple create one. Please visit www.mpartworks.com to see sample marriage contracts. (Mention my name or use code IRCG4N10SZ3993 to get a discount on the price.)

Except in the rarest of circumstances, we will meet together at least once before the ceremony to discuss and choose among all the possible elements you'd like included.
The fee for the initial meeting is applied to the total fee, which varies according to the cost of the entire wedding, the location of the ceremony, the number of rehearsals, and the like.

* Marriage has evolved over the millenia, from the domination of men over women to a partnership among equals. Committed same-gender couples fit this modern definition. I support the freedom to marry and support same-gender couples and their children. There is no such thing as same-sex marriage. There is only marriage. Couples of the same gender deserve the opportunity to be married and their children deserve to have their families acknowledged and protected by the states. As a Jew, I focus on fairness, family, and committment.
